The first and most important thing is to make sure you have a COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT. When it comes to ensuring you have all the credits to graduate in May 2020, you, (the Spartans Class of 2020 Student), are responsible for having all correct information returned and completed on time. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Bishop as soon as possible. Waiting to the last minute can delay many important things that must be done for you to graduate and begin your next phase after high school. Below are items that can guide you through the graduation process and propel you toward post-secondary success. This is not a complete collection of items at this time. This page will be updated with checklist as we go through the next 4 years together. NOTE: The rumor that all colleges want the Common App and recommendation letters completed by August 1st.....THAT IS NOT TRUE. Colleges start processing applications after they [the college/university] start classes and enroll their students currently on campus. Meaning, they DO NOT START PROCESSING PROSPECTIVE/NEW STUDENT APPLICATIONS UNTIL AFTER SEPTEMBER 1st. If a college specifically states a due date then that due date applies. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Franklin, the Post Secondary Counselor. Spartans Class of 2020 students: Check your SBISD email all the time. Program your SBISD email address into your smart phone, tablet/iPad, computer, and pay attention to all information/deadlines in the email. This is how I will communicate with the Spartans Class of 2020 students and their parents/guardians. ***When sending an email, you need to put your FULL NAME in the SUBJECT Section. When leaving phone message, you will need to SPELL the LAST NAME of the student and state the FULL NAME of the student.*** Make sure all of your contact information is updated yearly in Skyward. Use the Stratford School App: Found on the SHS main page to keep up with all events, information, and additional important dates. For Your Success: The SBISD T-2-4 Plan is the SBISD vision and goal of the graduation process and together we can make graduation possible for every individual student. |
